Note:None. Just excuse the fight scene. I was being lazy. Plus, I would've had this up earlier, but I had limited access to my comp, and we had a LOT of thunderstoms lately. Chy'eah. You get the point.
Previous Chappies: Dark's Story [The Beginning-His Untimely Death-Part 1]

The cold December air swooshed through the city streets. A tall small framed man, with a heavy looking backpack, stood at a pay phone on the corner of the intersection. He waited no-so-patiently as his wild blood shot eyes occasionally trailed up and down the deserted streetsA shiver ran through his body while the chilled air of December ran through the streets once more. He waited anxiously for Daisuke to arrive. He needed a solution for his problem, and he knew Daisuke could provide him with one.

He didn't know how much trouble he was in, but he had a strong feeling he was in a whole lot of it. The man had stolen something very valuable, from a very influential person in the 'hood. In the little hours he had this asset he heard that someone was out looking for him.

He spotted Daisuke turn the corner in his big black overcoat. From the look that Daisuke had on his face, he knew that he was highly aggravated. Yeah, Charles would have to admit, he would've been aggravated too if someone would've called him at this time of night. But, that's not the point…

Daisuke's lavender eyes landed on him, coldly.

"What is so urgent that you had to call me in the middle of the night for?!" He asked.

Charles stared at his friend for a couple of moments. His deep brown eyes trailed to the heavy backpack he was holding then he unzipped it.

Daisuke's attention was no longer on the man but to what the bag contained. His eyes widened in amazement. He had not seen so much cash in his life. At least, not so much on one place. It must've been thousands of dollars in the bag, maybe even millions.

His mind was racing now. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. Was this really Charles' problem?

But the real question is: How did Charles obtain such a large amount of cash in such a short amount of time?

Daisuke looked back up to the man with a look of disbelief. He hadn't--

Did he?

"Charles! Where did you get this money from?" Daisuke exclaimed so loudly, maybe the occupants in the apartments surrounding them might've heard him.

Charles pursed his lips in annoyance, then his heavy brown eyes still scaling the street. He hurriedly zipped up the bag.

"I got it from Jay." Charles stated. His voice was now heavy with urgency. "I stole it from him a few hours ago."

Daisuke's darkest suspicions were confirmed. Charles had stole the money, but from Jay?

Jay of all people… That man was a heavy hitter around the neighborhood. I mean, he was huge! If you mess with Jay and/or his hustle. Well, you might as well kill yourself because he was one brother you did not want to mess with.Real Talk.

Daisuke was speechless. He, at this point, didn't have anything else to say to Charles. At first, it was only Charles' life on the line, but now he was just hurled into it. He knew about the gruesome tales of Jay and his crew. He heard about a time when Jay bashed someone's head in just because they looked at him funny.

Charles placed the backpack on his back.

"I need you to help me--" Charles then balled up his face, and then twisted it up. "Shit! I have to go take a leak!" He exclaimed.

Daisuke just sighed.

Overactive Bladder Problem…

Before he knew, Charles was running down the sidewalk and disappeared into one of the alleyways.

Daisuke waited…
And waited…

How long has it been? Like 10 minutes?

Daisuke couldn't take it. He knew it didn't take that long to take a leak, especially when it was in the middle of the night and freezing. Hell, who knows what type of characters were lurking in the city streets and alleyways at this time of night.

Daisuke grumbled then ventured down the sidewalk. He was seriously going to kick his ass if he was--

Daisuke paused as he stood outside of the alleyway where Charles was pissing. He heard multiple grunts and a blood curdling scream coming from the alleyway. He rushed into the space to see Charles toppled over while five men continued to repeatedly kick and beat him with a bat.

Then there was a guy on the cell phone.

"Yeah… Alright… On the corner of Long Island… yeah… Okay Jay."

This scene angered Daisuke. He charged into the nearest man, tackling him into the ground. All of the men's attention was off beating the shit out of Charles and now it was on Daisuke, who had just assaulted one of their own.

Daisuke got off the man as the others were slowly walking towards him with the same menacing look in his eyes.

Shit! What the hell did he just get himself into?!

He felt something have a firm grip on his ankle. He looked down to see the person, whom he'd just tackled holding his ankle. He tried to budge, but while his attention was on that his face had contact with the wooden bat. The force from the bat flung Daisuke to the ground.

He hit the ground, hard.He tried to get up. Now they made him real angry. [HULK SMASH]

Daisuke managed to get into his fighting stance, which made the other men burst out in laughter.

"What are you tryin' to do, scare us?" One of the men asked. The others were ribbing on him by making imitation martial arts war cries and such. Daisuke's brows furrowed in annoyance, but he soon shut them up as he planted a swift kick in the face of the men that taunted him.

The men lunged at him and then the fighting started. With a lot of kicks and somehow managing to dodge that heavy wooden bat didn’t seem to be a match for Daisuke.

Once it was all over, bloodied up bodies lay on the ground in the alleyway. Daisuke glanced at the bodies with a grin then made his way towards Charles, who was attempting to get up on his own.

Daisuke helped him up. He wasn't aware of the cars that were blocking the exits or that the fact a big heavy set man was getting out of one of the cars and coming towards him.

"Isn't this the little asshole that stole my money?" The heavy set said, holding something that looked like pistol in his hand.

Daisuke looked up to see the man and the pistol. His eyes widened. He was in some real deep shit now.

"No! No! You have it all…"

The pistol went off five times…
And pools of blood appeared on the concrete…
                 Cars pulled off…
                         A woman screams…
And the ambulance siren wails in the distance…

Note: Lolz. This is for a friend of mine. ^.^;

Tossing and turning in his bed, that night, Daisuke couldn't sleep. Something had been bothering him terribly. As for that something, it had to do with the little episode that occurred earlier between his best friend, Charles. Daisuke still couldn't believe that the little episode happened in the first place. All he was trying to do was help him that was all. It wasn't like he was trying to control his life or anything.

Daisuke sat up on his bed. He leaned his head against the chestnut headboard with a sigh. His lavender eyes stared into the darkness of his room. He had no idea what time it was, and he did not care. All Daisuke did was recap the episode in his mind with a frown. He couldn't believe that he had said that, but it was expected…

Charles was always the stubborn one.

Daisuke's cell phone rang, out came the jazzy, sultry voice of the late Phyllis Hyman. The chorus of her classic 'Living All Alone' rang throughout the dark room. Her voice jolted him out of his 2nd recap of the episode.

Daisuke questioned himself of who could be calling him at this time of hour. It wasn't like he knew what time it was, but he assumed it was late. Instead of letting Phyllis' voice continue on, he answered it.

"Speak." He stated, more like commanded. This was the usual greeting that he would give to someone who called him at this time of night as opposed to the friendly 'Hello'.

Daisuke could hear someone panting real hard on the other line. His eyes squinted and his face bunched up in disgusted.

Was this some kind of prank call or something?

He moved the small phone away from his ear slowly, very disturbed by what he was hearing. He placed the phone in front of him, with his eyes automatically glued to the illuminated 'END' button. Daisuke was about to hand up on this sick pervert until he heard something else on the other line.

"Daisuke." He heard a husky voice that Daisuke knew all too well. He placed the phone back to his ear with a mixture of anger and confusion.

Why was Charles calling him?

"Daisuke…?" Came the voice once more.

"Yeah…" Was all Daisuke could say at this moment. He was still ireful at what happened.

"I-- Man! I need your help," Charles paused for a moment. His paused was filled with more fatigued pants. Daisuke was even angrier than before. Wasn't this the same man that snapped at him and told him not to try to help him out anymore?! So, why the hell is he asking for his help now?

Before Daisuke could speak him mind about this whole situation, Charles finally caught his breath.

"Shit!" Daisuke heard him mutter as if he were aggravated and in a hurry. "J-Just meet m-me on the corner of Long Island and 8th."

He hung up.

Yes, Daisuke was still furious at Charles, but he had a strong feeling that Charles was in it deep. So deep, that maybe he couldn't get himself out. Daisuke thought of leaving him to sit on that corner all night waiting for him, but he sounded so….

Desperate…

It was… almost too desperate….
